Getting started
Welcome to Doorstep
What Doorstep does and how to get your online booking up and running.
Updated July 5, 2026
Doorstep gives your home-service business a booking page and scheduling tools, so customers can book a visit without a phone call and you can keep your day organized in one place.
This guide is a quick tour. Follow the sections in order and you will have online booking live on your site.
What you can do with Doorstep
- Publish a booking page customers reach from a link or a button on your website.
- Embed the booking widget on your existing site so customers book without leaving.
- See every request on one schedule, with the details you need for each job.
- Take a deposit or full payment at the time of booking, so confirmed work is paid work.
- Keep customers in the loop with automatic messages before and after the visit.
Set up your account
Create your account and add your business details: your name, your service area, and the services you offer. These details appear on your booking page, so customers know exactly what they are booking and where you work.
Add your services and availability
List each service you offer with a short description and how long it takes. Then set the hours you are available for work. Doorstep only shows customers the times that fit your schedule, so you never get booked when you are unavailable.
Share your booking page
Once your services and availability are set, your booking page is ready. Add the link to your website, your social profiles, and your email signature. You can also embed the booking widget directly on your site so customers book right where they find you.
Where to go next
- Booking widget — customize the widget and add it to your site.
- Scheduling — manage your calendar, availability, and jobs.
- Payments — take deposits and payments at the time of booking.
